Banks to remain open on 2 Saturday of every month

5 days a week may be a best option for our every day job life, as one can give more time towards his/her family, but there are many disadvantages of such routine. On those 5 days many people can’t able to visit bank to perform some work and when it’s week end, its the same for Banks as well.

But now the things are going to change, as Banks are also going to open on few Saturdays of a month, as per latest RBI notification. This will be a huge relief for many family, as visiting a bank on a holiday was a dream till this declaration.

From July 25th, 2015 almost every bank will continue their operation in every second & fourth Saturday of every month. The notification has been disclosed by RBI on the day of EID, so today will not considered under this regulation. From next Saturday this new rule will be implemented.

Banks should open on Saturday?

Although many people prefer to choose net banking way to complete most of their bank transactions, but one can’t avoid various cases to visit a nearest bank branch. If we consider SBI’s case of changing bank account branch from one city to another city, then one have to visit the nearest branch and file an application to complete the process.

But in case of Axis Bank or ICICI Bank one can complete these activities via online itself. But there are many cases for these banks as well, when one have to visit the nearest bank branch.

On week days, it is very tough to visit a bank branch due to personal work. Even if you manage to visit the bank branch, you will find huge queue by senior people, students, businessman and many more people who don’t go to a 9 to 5 job.

So, two extra Saturday in every month will definitely boost the banking activities as well as help people to manage their banking activities properly. What do you think about this initiative? Do you prefer to visit your nearest bank branch?
